MEET YOUR CANDIDATE
Kendra Wenzel brings diverse experience to Ottawa County’s leadership. With years of experience as a sales consultant, client support specialist, and community leader, Kendra has developed discernment in identifying talent and is highly skilled at coaching and nurturing people’s natural strengths and abilities. She is actively involved with her church and deeply cares about advocating for veterans and their well-being.
While serving with Hand2Hand, Kendra provided logistical support in organizing and maintaining food inventories and addressing hunger and malnourishment challenges among students in our schools. Kendra also served as a BLOOM mentor mom where she walked beside young mothers. In her church, she currently leads a small group with her husband.
With a solid commitment to family, Kendra has been happily married for 32 years. She is the mother of four adult children and the grandmother of seven grandchildren, two awaiting them in heaven.
Kendra is motivated to nourish community engagement and uphold foundational freedoms and God-given rights. As a Michigan Right to Life member, she firmly believes that life begins at conception. She stepped into the realm of grassroots politics after her daughter faced unjust treatment for a disregarded medical mask exemption, resulting in a police presence and the threat of her daughter being denied her right to education.
Kendra advocates for parental and constitutional rights and disapproves of government overreach. Kendra is a member of the Ottawa County Republican Party (OCRP) Executive Committee and Chair of the Membership Committee. As Chair, Kendra has spent the last two years developing a team that has enlisted, trained, and engaged with over 350 precinct delegates. She also has contributed significantly in building the content of the OCRP training platform.
Kendra’s community service, advocacy for fundamental rights, and proven leadership make her a stand-out candidate dedicated to shaping our county’s future. In her roles as Ottawa County Commissioner, precinct delegate, and OCRP Executive Committee member, she is driven by a renewed sense of civic duty. She encourages others to step into leadership roles and shape our county’s future.
